Presentation of the High School Teacher of the Year Award

Standing proudly with Mr. Scott Coonfare, High School Teacher of the Year, are Colonels (Ret.) Hovde and Driesbach, and the Principal of Sparkman High School, Mr. Todd Dreifort.  

The Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Air and Space Forces Association (AFA) presented its High School Teacher of the Year Award to Mr. Scott Coonfare of Sparkman High School, Huntsville, Alabama, at a meeting of the school’s faculty and staff on May 21st.  Col (Ret.) Bob Hovde presented Mr. Coonfare with a certificate and a check for $250.  Next, Col (Ret.) Rick Driesbach, President of the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Air and Space Forces Association (AFA), acting on behalf of Ms. Susan Mallett, the Alabama State AFA VP for Aerospace Education, presented Mr. Coonfare with a certificate and a check for $500 in honor of his also being awarded AFA’s Alabama State Teacher of the Year!!
